Product Name: “Idraren Vase”
“Idraren” means “roots” in Tamazight — this sculptural piece celebrates identity, ancestry, and bold artistic expression.
The Story Behind the Piece
Shaped in the clay-rich ateliers of Marrakech, the Idraren Vase is a striking fusion of modern abstraction and Amazigh tradition.
Its face — half red, half blue — represents the duality within all of us: heritage and self, earth and spirit, the known and the mysterious. Spiked ridges along the crown echo protective adornments worn by Amazigh warriors, while the handles and markings are nods to ceremonial objects once used in ancient North African rituals.
This isn’t just a vase. It’s a totem. A face. A reminder of where we come from and where we’re going.
Why Each Piece is Special
Every Idraren Vase is sculpted and painted by hand — no molds, no machines. That means each piece carries the unique signature of the artisan who shaped it.
From slight asymmetries to the bold brushstrokes, these “imperfections” are not flaws, but fingerprints of authenticity.
How It's Made
Step 1: Sculpting the Form
- Hand-shaped using red clay from the Marrakech region
- No two forms are exactly the same
- Crown ridges and side handles are shaped and attached by hand
Step 2: Drying & First Firing
- Sun-dried for several days
- Fired in traditional Moroccan kilns
Step 3: Hand-Painted Symbols
- Each face is freehand painted using oxide-rich pigments
- Abstract lines inspired by Amazigh art and African modernism
- Symbols chosen with intention and care
Step 4: Glazing & Final Firing
- Clear glazed for a high-gloss, durable finish
- Fired again to set color and seal the surface
