Idraren Vase
"Idraren" means "roots" in Tamazight; this sculptural piece celebrates identity, ancestry, and bold artistic expression.
A Modern Totem Rooted in Tradition
Shaped in the clay-rich ateliers of Marrakech, the Idraren Vase is a striking fusion of modern abstraction and Amazigh heritage.
Its face-split between red and blue represents the duality within all of us: heritage and self, earth and spirit, the known and the mysterious. Spiked ridges along the crown echo protective adornments worn by Amazigh warriors, while the handles and markings reference ceremonial objects from ancient North African rituals.
This isn't just a vase. It's a totem. A face. A reminder of where we come from and where we're going.
Handcrafted, One of a Kind
Every Idraren Vase is sculpted and painted entirely by hand — no molds, no machines. Each piece carries the unique signature of the artisan who shaped it. Slight asymmetries and bold brushstrokes aren't flaws, but fingerprints of authenticity.
The Making Process
Sculpting: Hand-shaped using red clay from the Marrakech region. Crown ridges and side handles are individually formed and attached.
Firing: Sun-dried for several days, then fired in traditional Moroccan kilns.
Painting: Each face is freehand painted using oxide-rich pigments. Abstract lines draw from Amazigh art and African modernism, chosen with intention and care.
Finishing: Clear glazed for a high-gloss, durable finish, then fired again to set the colors and seal the surface.
