Tifinagh Vase”
A celebration of Amazigh identity, hand-painted in the symbols of memory, freedom, and life.
The Story Behind the Piece
Handcrafted in the Marrakech region, the Tifinagh Vase draws from the soul of Amazigh culture. Its strong, balanced shape and colorful, symbolic design are inspired by ancient Tifinagh script — a writing system used for centuries by the Berber people of North Africa.
With its looping handles and vivid painted patterns, this vase is both a functional vessel and a statement piece, rooted in tradition and reimagined for the modern home.
It doesn’t just hold flowers — it holds story, ancestry, and spirit.
Why Each Piece is Special
Each Tifinagh Vase is:
- Built entirely by hand from locally sourced Moroccan clay
- Hand-painted with natural, food-safe pigments
- Slightly different in shape, color, and texture — ensuring no two are alike
These marks of imperfection are its beauty — a sign of human touch.
How It's Made
1. Shaping the Clay
- Wheel-thrown base with hand-attached double handles
- Created using red clay from the Atlas foothills
2. Natural Drying
- Slowly sun-dried for several days to ensure structural stability
3. First Firing
- Fired in a traditional kiln
4. Hand-Painting the Symbols
- Each symbol is rooted in Amazigh heritage
- Painted with brushes using natural and mineral-based colors like cactus green, indigo blue, ochre yellow, and terracotta orange
5. Final Glaze & Firing
- A transparent crackle glaze is applied to protect the surface
- Final kiln firing ensures durability and richness in color
