Inspired by the architecture of Moroccan kasbahs — their fortress-like shapes, layered voids, and bold silhouettes — the “Kasbah Lines” vase is a contemporary take on ancestral design.

Its three vertical towers mimic rooftop structures found in the medina; its negative space creates a rhythmic balance between form and air. The vase features hand-drawn abstract lines, flowing like pathways through ancient walls. It’s both a sculpture and a vessel, inviting interpretation, light, and conversation.

How It's Made

1. Shaping the Form

• Built by hand from Moroccan red clay
• Carefully sculpted to include multiple upright chimneys and two circular cutouts
• Air-dried over several days

2. First Kiln Firing

• Low-fired in traditional kilns using local wood and natural fuels

3. Hand-Painting & Glazing

• Abstract lines in black are painted to represent paths, memory, and flow
• Blocks of deep forest green, midnight blue, and fig purple are applied like brushmarks of emotion
• A soft cream glaze finishes the piece with visible craquelure

4. Final Firing

• Locked at high temperatures for durability and texture integrity
